Grit&Gratitude is a 501c3 non-profit bike ride to raise money to fund reseach for pediatric cancer and to support families currently navigating pediatric cancer
Our Story:
The first Grit&Gratitude first bike ride was in 2019 when my 2 year old daughter Lily returned home to Duluth after treatment of her stage 4 liver cancer called Hepatoblastoma. Hepatoblastoma is a rare pediatric cancer that originates in the liver, most commonly diagnosed before age 3, and it can readily metastasize and typically spreads to the lungs and other organs. It is a rare cancer, but its prevalence is growing for reasons we don’t fully understand.
To say treatment is grueling is an understatement. There is no guarantee of survival, especially for kids with metastatic disease. I organized the first bike ride to celebrate my daughter’s resilience, the community that supported us, and also to raise funds for more research and support for families in hopes of helping more kids survive hepatoblastoma.
We are now a 501c3 Tax exept organization with a small board of directors, and we organize an annual bike ride (in person, and virtual) to raise funds for pediatric cancer. Come ride with us or volunteer to help more kids survive cancer
